    Swim little fishies....swim!

    Wednesday, July 16th, 2008, 10:53 pm

Oh when I was little, I loved to swim.  I'd swim from sun up till sun down.  It was just so fun, and I never got tired of it.  I'd spend weeks at a time at my aunt and uncle's house swimming all day long.

Now that I'm a mom, of two little boys, swimming is a fun sport ...to watch.  I'm not much of a fan.  I'm more the lounge around the pool kinda mom, who jumps in only to cool off.  But I do my fair share every so often.

We signed the boys up for swimming lessons and they've been doing really well.  Tommy is in the 5-6 year old class, and is really swimming great.   John and I have had 2.5 weeks worth of mommy & me lessons.  Last time I checked, I could swim?!?  Anyway, that's all they had for a 3 year old, so we signed up.  Do you have any idea how hard it is to put on a brave face when you jump in icy cold water?  Oh, it's not easy, trust me!!   John has been doing very well, so well in fact, he got booted right out of the mommy & me class today!  Yep, my little guy is swimming with the 5-6 year olds!  No joke!  This is the little man that wouldn't step foot into the pool after his scary tumble into the spa last spring.  Same little fella who would only stay on the 2nd step this summer, wouldn't get his face in or even liked to be splashed.  Now he's swimming like a little fish!  Even jumps in and does "cammon balls" like his dad (camdon = cannon)  Tongue out

I'm so proud of my little fishies!!
